Get started using a Serial LCD

It comes with a 24 character by 2 line display.
The display has an EL backlight panel.
The EL backlight power supply is included.
Why is it cheaper?
The kit only has parts for embedded use.
The expensive toggle switches are eliminated.
The LCD is used but in good condition.
The EL power supply is used and may break.
(I will replace it if it does.)
Some work is needed to reuse the LCD and EL power supply.
I got a good deal on a limited supply of LCD's and EL
power supplies.
