For some informative and interesting projects using the PIC and SX microcontrollers you must visit this site.
There are also many links to other equally interesting locations.

Great Microchip PIC and Scenix SX  information:   http://www.brouhaha.com/~eric/

The Scenix SX series of microcontrollers are a superset of the Microchip PIC16C5x parts.
The most interesting improvement is that the SX can run up to 10 times faster than the equivalent PIC.
In addition, SX parts use EEPROM for program storage and can be erased and reprogrammed in circuit.

Microchip has been making the PIC microcontrollers for a long time.
They have built up a very wide range of parts. These parts are reasonably priced and readily available.

MicroEngineering Labs makes a number of  Printed Circuit Boards for prototyping PIC and SX circuits.
I especially like the PICProto18. It accepts 18 pin PIC's and SX's. It is small in size and has just enough
prototyping area to make it useful.

The PICProto-Dual is a larger board that accepts both the 18 and 28 pin PIC's and SX's.

I have literally used dozens of these boards for many different projects.

Sooner or later the microcontroller in your design has to talk to the real world.
This means it has to understand analog signals.

When you need help with this, contact  Dave Johnson and Associates

XPL0 is a programming language similar to Pascal. It was created in the mid 70s by Peter J. R. Boyle and the 6502 Group.

This site is the place to get examples, utilities, and games written in XPL0. All the sources for these programs are available and they are FREE.

For lots of great stuff you must look at  The XPL0 Programming Language  distribution site.

The PICList is a collection of people interested in the Microchip PIC processor who have requested that email sent to the PICList email address be forwarded to
them.  To get in touch with people that actually use the PIC go to http://www.piclist.com

http://techref.massmind.org/scenix  is a good source for a lot of Scenix related information. There are also links to a number of other sources of information and products.

For some Microchip PIC and Scenix SX ideas including the infamous Stupid PIC Tricks list you MUST look at Richard Ottosen's  personal Web page.
